Skiing

Okay, after much deliberation I've elected to set aside Easter Weekend as Tremblant Ski Weekend.

Dates: Up 25 March, back 28 March.

Expected Cost (per person):

Lift ticket (2 days skiing): $103.00
Accommodations (Pp, covers 3 nights): $243.75
Gas, food, rum, etc.: $25

Total: $371.75 (give or take rentals, lesson, etc.)

This is all tentative so far. I'd be willing to modify dates (ie. shorten the trip) or switch activities (say from skiing to introductory boarding lessons) depending on what people's plans were. If you're down for it, post a comment or send me an e-mail.

Man, if I was back home, I'd take you up on your offer in a heartbeat... or as they say in Korea in "as fast as the blink of a crab's eye".

I'd give you all good lessons on how to snowboard... it's pretty simple. You just need to remember to twist your upper body violently in the opposite direction that you twist your lower body.

Regardless of when you go and who you go with, you def should try snowboarding... It's far more fun than skiing.

Channing: I've tried once, and it was a pretty embarassing experience. The friends I was with were both skiing, so I was out on the bunny hill by myself. Nothing like doing a brutal face plant at 30 km/h, only to have a 10-year-old blast past you, yelling "You suck!" as he goes.

I ended up trading in my board for skis and greasing the little bastard on my next run.

But we'll see. I'd like to learn, but only if there's fellow novices to learn with. I've been skiing so long, it's hard to do anything else.

If I can afford it, I'm in.

JTL: Sounds good, I'll keep you posted. Sorry to hear about your vehicle getting knocked out of commission... hope that the blood-letting is over, and that it's back in your hands before much longer.

A guy from work's expressed interest as well. We still have one spot left. I'm going to e-mail Lang - I'd mentioned this to her before, back in the day.
