Questions
Usual rules. Respond to all, some or none and feel free to go anonymous, if you're so inclined.
1.) Now that winter is rolling in, are there any little traditions, activities or comforts that you'll be going back to for over the colder months?
2.) What was your favorite book, back when you were a child? Why?
3.) Do you have a book/magazine/webpage/movie/show/etc. that's really trashy, but you read/visit/watch regularly anyways? If so, what is it?
4.) If you were to vote based on one issue, what would that issue be? Why?
5 Comments:
1) Shivering.
2) Dang... Dunno... Huck Finn I guess. I've read it a bunch of times and always enjoy it.
3) Does the Simpsons count?... If not then no. Oh.. I guess Chris Rock's new comedy might count. I do love the man.. He's funny as hell even if his show isn't cause it's on regular networks.
4)Polygamy - Do you really need to know why? (Of course I'm just kidding).
1. None really to speak of, although I'll always enjoy a crisp, still, sunny -15C morning. (With the wind in Kingston, though, those are a pretty rare find.)
2. I liked Journey to the Centre of the Earth by Jules Verne a lot. I think I read it two or three times, which for me is a lot. I also remember listening to the song "Incense And Peppermints" by the Strawberry Alarm Clock as the character's protagonist enters a giant cavern; to this day I think of that cavern every time I hear that song (which isn't all too frequent, to be honest).
3. Nope. I cut that shit out of my life.
4. Commitment to a 100% public health care system. Jack for PM.
1) My balaclava (spelling? I have no idea). I loved that thing. The ability to walk around in blowing snow and cold with immunity is great.
2) The Mouse and the Motorcycle. It had two really good parts. It had a mouse AND a motorcycle. Also, it had a tylenol ambulance.
3) This would be the trashiest thing I read. Though you need to write more celebrity gossip and I would be in heaven.
4) Now that I'm a British Citizen, I would have to say voting against giving the police the ability to hold suspects for 90 days without charge.
On that tanget I saw possibly the weirdest one-two punch in the history of the world on Sky News here in england. First was a tribute to the few remaining world war one veterans which was very well done and very inspiring. It ended with talking about how soon we won't have people who fought in one of the most gruesome wars in history. It was then followed by an editorial that basically amounted to calling any people or MPs who vote against 90 day detainments without charge traitors.
My head almost exploded.
LOL
That's awesome!
1.) I love skiing. Skiing would be enough, but I also like drinking while I ski. I usually bring a small hip flask full of Baileys or Godet, or something similarly tasty. Then I have a cigar. Which I smoke. While skiing.
2.) I Want To Go Home, by Gordan Korman. It taught me all the wonders of being sarcastic to people in positions of authority. Rudy Miller kicks ass.
3.) About once every year or two, I get hooked on trashy reality TV. Last time around, it was Paradise Hotel. So... horrible... can't... look... away...
4.) Assuming I don't think they're going to screw up the country, foreign policy is a big one. I figure it's best to go with what you know. That is to say, until a socially leftist and fiscally rightist party becomes viable...
